On Sunday 22 August police attended a report of assault. 
A 50 year old Latvian female suffered severe facial injuries in what is believed to be a domestic related incident.  An 18 year old Lithuanian female is currently in Yeovil custody (as at 23/8/10).

FOLLOWING the hugely successful 'Love Music, Hate Racism' gig in West Coker in January, organiser Kira McCoy has embarked on a bigger project to put on a music festival to promote diversity and equality.

Saturday’s rains left three people dead and hundreds without homes in the southwestern part of Poland. The Miedzianka River flooded most of the town of Bogatynia, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. A dam in Niedowie was broken and caused major interference at the Turów coal mine. Sunday’s wave cumulation on the Nysia Łyżycka River passed Zgorzelec, 27 km north of Bogatynia, but flooded nearby Przedmieście Nyskie and Bulwar Grecki.

The 18^th July 2010 sees the 5^th International Festival of Culture coming to Minehead. This event will be an opportunity for the diverse community of West Somerset to celebrate culture. The festival is expected to bring hundreds of people together, from across the South West, to share in this event and also be a part of the national Big Lunch. An event not to be missed, as together we celebrate community cohesion, diversity and culture!
